About The Sole Pod
Everything is connected
I believe we are one integrated system and not one thing is seperate from another. Further studies post grad have allowed me to gather knowledge and understanding that when it comes to treating the lower limb, you can’t ignore the upper.
We are a system where the ankle bone connects to the knee bone, to the hip bone, to the spine (you get it!)
Our foot and ankle issues generally aren’t just that, which is why I do things a bit differently. Treating every feeling of pain, discomfort or concern with a whole body approach. Ensuring we’re not just relieving pain in the moment, but finding solutions that suit your life, and will keep you moving for a long time coming.
My Promise to you
A Safe + Open space
The Sole Pod is a judgement-free space, where you can share your concerns and we can find solutions that suit your lifestyle.
No Band-aid Solutions
If I’m not aiming for long-lasting results, I’m not doing my job properly. And to do that it’s important to look at the bigger picture so that we’re treating the root cause of your pain.
Always Learning
I love what I do, and want to be the very best I can be. I am big on manual and hands on therapy like Foot Mobilisation therapy. I am one of 2 trained Podiatrists in Australia who utilise Stecco Fascial Manipulation but believe to work on compensations functional movement and exercises are key. With that in mind I have completed functional movement courses and an intensive Pilates teacher certification and am continuously furthering my education so that I can better support you and your body as a whole.
Meet Elise
My everyday life is a reflection of what I care most about: family, movement and holistic wellbeing
Currently loving
Spending time with my husband, daughter and our cattle dog, Dusty. Living a lifestyle where I’m working closer to home, so I can spend more time with them and see our daughter grow. Surfing, pilates, yoga, running- just generally moving my body.
Currently dreaming of
A surf trip that involves sun, surf and beers- I’d love to go back to Sri Lanka, it’s unreal. In everyday life, finding more balance so that I really can make the most of time with family, while still doing the incredible work that I love.
Currently learning
Since becoming a Mum I have been learning that time is precious and of the essence. It’s teaching me to be more mindful of each moment, but also to slow down and take it all in. The perfect juxtaposition.
